Englewood Camera has been hosting Clicks! Camera Club for a while now, and we are pleased to announce that photographer Cole Thompson will be speaking on October 2, 2013.
Cole is a New York native specializing in black and white photography. At age 14, Cole stumbled upon a book by George Eastman, and his passion for photography was born. He spent the next 10 years taking pictures, using a darkroom, or engrossed in books about photography; traditional black and white images by Adams, Weston and Bullock and other photographers caused a physical reaction within Cole.
Currently, Cole Thompson is still a black and white photographer. According to Cole, “color records the image, but black and white captures the feelings that lie beneath the surface.” He was inspired in his work by the poem “Invictus” by William Ernest Henley, which reads:
