Earlier this year, Canon USA announced the new, highly anticipated full frame cameras as part of their award-winning EOS lineup: the EOS 5Ds and EOS 5Ds R. Each camera has a newly designed 50.6 megapixel CMOS sensor, capable of delivering “ultra-high resolution images for large-scale printing and extensive, creative cropping, while Dual DIGIC 6 Image Processors enable spectacular image quality and processing speed.”
The 5Ds R sets itself apart, however, with the removal of the low-pass filter, allowing even higher resolution images that take full advantage of the 50.6mp sensor. In addition, each model offers 61-Point High Density Reticular AF including up to 41 cross-type AF points, EOS iTR allows for high precision autofocus, 5.0 frames per second continuous shooting, and an Intelligent Viewfinder II for approximately 100% coverage. These new cameras also offer a built-in intervalometer and bulb timer, helping deliver expanded creativity for low-light and night photography. For videographers, both the 5Ds and 5Ds R record full HD 30p movie and offer a Time Lapse Movie function, which takes still photographs at set
intervals and combines them into a Full HD movie file.
Each camera has a 3.2-inch ClearView II LCD monitor, 170° viewing angle, 1,040,000-dot VGA, and is reflection resistance with multi coating and high-transparency materials for bright and clear viewing. Lastly, each model offers customizable quick control screen, which allows you to quickly change frequently used camera settings and functions.
