Canon announces new G-Series PowerShot cameras

Canon USA announced two exciting new additions to its advanced amateur line of G-Series cameras for a total of 5 models.Both cameras have a 1″, 20.2-megapixel CMOS sensor for superior image quality.  We expect to see these new models by late November 2015.

G5X

The new Canon Powershot G5X offers a high defintion, 2.36-million dot OLED viewfinder. Other features include:

  • 4.2x (24-100mm equivalent) zoom lens
  • Wide aperture: f/1.8-2.8 for low light and shallow depth of field shooting
  • 3″, 1.04-million dot touch LCD screen
  • Dedicated hot shoe with full EX flash compatibility
  • 2.5mm mini-jack for use with RS-60E3 remote control
  • RAW shooting format
  • Full customization available with control dial around lens other conveniently located function buttons
  • Anticipated retail: $799.99

G9X

The new Canon Powershot G9X mixes style and functionality in a compact camera! Available in silver/tan or black, the G9X offers:

  • 3x (24-84mm equivalent) zoom lens
  • Wide aperture: f/2-4.9 for low light and shallow depth of field
  • 3″ smart touch screen LCD with new easy to use interface
  • Full customization with control ring around lens
  • 6 frame-per-second for continuous, fast-action shooting
  • RAW shooting format
  • Anticipated retail: $529.99
