Hold the phone…Englewood Camera is now a stocking dealer for 3 Legged Thing?! Yes, that’s right, folks–and we are so excited to carry these innovative tripod systems from the UK!
So, many of you probably haven’t heard of 3 Legged Thing…we won’t hold it against you. 3LT has been around for a mere four years, but they are taking the tripod market by storm with compact and modular tripods, available in carbon fiber or die cast alloy, and have neat model names, too. Take the Vyv–one of the EVO3 Punks series–an aluminum alloy tripod with 23mm legs, and designed to support small DSLR cameras or mirrorless cameras. The Vyv can support up to 20kg, and comes with the Airhed Mohawk ball head. In the same series is the Rick, a carbon fiber version of the Vyv, that is sold with the same ball head.
Also available are the EVO3 Pro tripods, called Brian and Roger. For the time being, Englewood Camera is stocking the Roger–a tripod that is “unique in its design, and the Evolution 3 upgrades take it to a new level. Multiple mounting points for accessories and other imaging devices, toughened grips on uniquely engineered parallel locks, and an added D-Ring and Carabiner for additional capability make Roger an incredibly versatile and rugged tripod system, with modular design for professionals and enthusiasts” (from 3LT’s website). Both the Brian and Roger tripods are available as legs only, or in a set with the professional Airhed 3 ball head. All of the 3 Legged Thing models are designed to travel, allowing you one tripod for all purposes.
In need of a new ball head? Check out the Airhed series at Englewood Camera. The Airhed Mohawk is a lightweight ball head that packs a lot of power–it can withstand top-down loads of up to 160kg, a pan base, and has a quick release system that supports both Arca Swiss and Peak Design. The Airhed 3 ball head is heavier duty for professional use–it is cast from aircraft grade alloy, and can withstand top-down loads of up to 200kg. The Airhed 3 includes an integrated detachable Pano-Clamp to use on uneven, rugged terrain, and uses the Arca/Peak compatible quick release system for maximum functionality.
