Wildlife and sports photographers, rejoice! Englewood Camera now has the brand new Tamron SP 150-600mm f/1:5-6.3 Di VC G2 lens in stock for Canon and Nikon mounts.
NEW YORK, Oct. 6, 2016 – Sony Electronics, a worldwide leader in digital imaging and the world’s largest image sensor manufacturer, has today introduced their new flagship APS-C sensor camera, the α6500 (model ILCE-6500).
As the latest addition to Sony’s lineup of award winning mirrorless cameras, the new α6500 shares the same unrivaled 4D FOCUS™ system as the α6300 camera, which can lock focus on a subject in as little as 0.05 seconds, the world’s fastest AF acquisition time. Also shared with the α6300, the new α6500 features 425 phase detection AF points that are densely positioned over nearly the entire image area – the world’s highest number of AF points on any interchangeable lens camera. The new model can shoot images at up to 11 frames per second with continuous autofocus and exposure tracking and up to 8 frames per second in a live-view shooting mode that makes it easy to track fast moving subjects, as it combines all of the benefits of an electronic viewfinder with the immediacy of an optical viewfinder.

The FUJIFILM X-T2 is the ultimate mirrorless digital camera. The X-T2 is a splash-resistant premium interchangeable lens camera with a large OLED electronic viewfinder (EVF). The X-T2 houses the latest generation 24.3MP X-Trans CMOS III with an APS-C sensor with no low-pass filter, boasting the highest performance in the history of X Series. The new X-T2 produces crisp image resolution comparable to that of cameras equipped with larger sensors and higher pixel counts, all in a more compact and classically-designed body.
And for the first time, the new FUJIFILM X-T2 now supports 4K video recording that can use each available Film Simulation mode, including ACROS, to easily produce premium-quality footage that is as unique as the photographer behind the viewfinder.
In September 2015, Tamron USA announced two new prime lenses to its professional SP lens lineup; the SP 35mm f1.8 Di VC USD and the SP 45mm f1.8 Di VC USD. These primes are available in Canon, Nikon, and Sony mounts, for both full frame and APS-C sensor DSLRs.
Englewood Camera’s Operations Manager, Erin, recently took the SP 35mm on a trip to Ireland, and decided to write a review of the lens, including performance, quality, and an overall comparison to Canon L-Series glass that she is used to shooting.
Tamron announced two new lenses to its amazing lineup of professional quality SP lenses. According to Tamron, the company “has utilized a new design concept to enhance the outstanding performance provided by the SP Series. Our attention to every engineering detail has resulted in the most advanced optical and electro-mechanical designs being incorporated in SP Series, creating a new benchmark for high performance and visual elegance. The design philosophy embraces the importance of comfortable, ergonomic operation and positive tactile feedback, crucial factors in all types of photography. The newly designed all-metallic barrel features an embedded concave ring at the base of the lens—for a firm hold and comfort necessary for a steady shot. Switches are larger and reconfigured for smoother function and the typeface has been redesigned for intuitive legibility. The Tamron SP Series is the superlative example of the Lensmaker’s art.” Englewood Camera is accepting preorders of the new Tamron products, so please call us at (303) 797-0700 or email firstname.lastname@example.org to do so.
Coming in March 2016, the new SP 90mm f/2.8 VC USD 1:1 Macro will be available in Canon, Nikon, and Sony A mounts. According to the Tamron Press Release, this newly designed lens includes “XY-Shift compensation has been newly added to reinforce VC functionality, further improving image stabilization from infinity to macro. Advancements in USD control software have also increased AF focusing speed, and optimally fine-tuned for various framing conditions. In addition, a high standard of Moisture-Proof and Dust-Resistant Construction has been added to prevent intrusion of dust or moisture, and a highly durable Fluorine Coating has been applied to the top element surface to prevent condensation and repel smudge-causing substances.”
